Madalena is not quite as dreamy as it might
seem at first. The town is closest to Horta on the
island of Faial, from where it is supplied with
goods of all kinds. Every time the ferries arrive,
the small town awakens anew and for half an
hour Madalena becomes a busy collecting point
for people and goods.

In Madalena, two hotels, a small guesthouse
and several private lodgings are available.
Even outside the hustle and bustle there are
beautiful places to stay.
